Avionics Engineer
About the role
As a Junior Avionics Engineer, you will provide hands-on support in developing advanced avionics platforms. You will work within a dynamic team of eight, bridging the gap between hardware design and embedded software integration.
Work tasks
Hardware Design & PCB Layout: Develop and design flight computer hardware and printed circuit board (PCB) layouts using Altium or KiCad, including the preparation of manufacturing files.
Automated Test Scripts: Write and execute test software and scripts in , C/C++, or Bash to validate avionics devices on Linux test benches.
Commissioning & Lab Troubleshooting: Perform systematic troubleshooting, diagnostics, and functional testing on electronic assemblies in the lab using oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
Embedded Software Integration: Install, configure, and flash embedded C/C++ software onto the developed hardware components and microcontrollers.
Flight Operations Support: Provide hands-on assistance with flight testing preparation, system setup, and telemetry monitoring in the field.
We are looking for
Experience: Hands-on hardware development experience (avionics, automotive, or robotics) within a professional corporate environment.
PCB Design: Solid proficiency in board layout using Altium or KiCad, along with hardware troubleshooting experience.
Testing & Linux: Experience writing scripts (, C/C++, or Bash) for automated hardware validation within a Linux environment.
Lab & Interfaces: Comfortable using laboratory equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, JTAG) and a solid understanding of serial protocols (CAN, UART, SPI, I2C).
Languages & Mindset: Fluent in English; a proactive, structured, and completely independent way of working.
Nice-to-Have Requirements
Embedded C/C++: Practical knowledge of programming microcontrollers (e.g., STM32).
Flight Operations: Initial exposure to flight testing, setup, or telemetry monitoring.
German: Good command of German is a plus.
